Community Safety
Community Safety is a term used to describe the process of bringing together organisations and the Community to reduce crime, the fear of crime, tackle anti-social behaviour and improve the quality of life for the people in Chiltern District.
Crime has many causes within our community; it is for this reason that there is now a general acceptance that a multi-agency approach is the most effective way to combat crime, disorder and the fear of crime. In light of this and legislative requirements laid down in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, the Chiltern Community Safety Partnership was formed. Some of the organisations that we work in partnership with include:
- Thames Valley Police
- Buckinghamshire County Council
- Thames Valley Probation Service
- Youth Offending Service
- Chiltern and South Bucks Primary Care Trust
- Drug Action Team
- Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service
- Town and Parish Councils
- Local Community Groups (e.g. Residents' Associations, Watch Schemes, etc)
- Voluntary Organisations
