Chesham Town Council

Parks, Recreation Grounds and Open Spaces

Lowndes Park was donated to the town by the Lowndes family in 1953. The Park spans 28 acres and in the lower section features Skottowes Pond, an enclosed toddlers play area, picnic site, skatepark, playground and multi-sports court. The upper section of the park features mature trees leading out to the open countryside. Summer Concerts are held on the band stand every Sunday afternoon during July and August.

The council maintains the following playing fields, pavilions and play areas located throughout the town at the following locations; Batchelors Way, Bois Moor Road, Codmore Playing Field including 2 football pitches and pavilion, Co-op Field, Gordon Road, Hodds Wood Road, Marston Playing Field including 2 football pitches and pavilion and multi-sports court, Moor Road including junior football pitches and pavilion, Nashleigh Hill, Windsor Road and Woodland View.

The Town Council is also responsible for Chesham Moor, Big Round Green, 3 roadside greens at Nashleigh Hill (Chalk Dell), Lye Green and Manor Way.

Amersham Town Council

The Community Services Committe is responsible for the Council's policy and management in respect of its streetlighting, sports grounds and pavilions, Memorial Gardens, playgrounds, halls, allotments, woodlands, and open spaces. It also deals with community events such as the Town Carol Service and Heritage Open Day.
